Payment options for auto insurance |
|
 |
Safety offers three payment options. Your Safety agent can help
you select the one that best meets your needs.
- You can pay the entire premium in full at the time you apply for
insurance or when your policy comes up for renewal:
- If you choose to pay less than the full premium, our installment
billing plan is automatically activated. After you pay the down payment, the plan
provides for 9 additional payments that are due on the same day each month. A billing
charge is assessed on each bill. The type of billing charge depends on the SDIP
points associated with the operators of each vehicle. A late charge of up to $25.00 is assessed if payments are not received within 10 days following the payment due date.
- You can enroll in the SAFETY ADVANTAGE program and have payments
automatically withdrawn from your bank account.
If you have been cancelled for non-payment during the past two years, a 100% down
payment is required.
Please contact your Safety
Agent for more details.

The Safe Driver Insurance Plan (SDIP) |
|
 |
To ensure that rates are fair, the state categorizes drivers based on their accident
and violation history over the past five years. This system is called the safe driver
insurance plan (SDIP). Accounting for all accidents and violations over this time
period results in a point assignment, which can range from 98 - 45 points.
SDIP automatically applies surcharges (points) and credits to increase or decrease
the premium on a policy, depending on the driving record of the policyholder and
all operators listed on the policy.
